Principal’s Blog: Catholic Schools Week 2020 Approaches!

Three weeks from now, on January 27, our school enrollment for the 2020-21 school year will open. Existing families will register for the next school year and new families will have the opportunity to register. I ask you to please encourage any family with a child who will be three or four years old by September 1st to enroll in our preschool program as soon as possible. Our preschool classrooms are capped at certain enrollment numbers and fill up very quickly. The week of January 27th, we will also celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

On this week, we will celebrate our school community and those who make the school possible. Students will have a number of themed dress-up days and activities. We will host our annual science fair on the 28th, and on the 29th we will celebrate the highly anticipated Grandparent’s day. Grandparents will be invited to join students at Mass that day at 8:30, and the school will host a special reception for them following the Mass. More details on Catholic Schools Week will come out in future communications and a detailed packet was included in this week’s family communication folder.

In this Sunday’s Gospel, we see our patron saint, St. John the Baptist, play an important role in the story of salvation when he baptizes Jesus in the Jordan River. Each week our students see this powerful moment depicted in the stained-glass window above the altar.
