Principal’s Blog: Alleluia! He is risen!

Alleluia! He is risen!

Alleluia! He is risen! This holiday, and this historical moment, is one that has changed our world and ought to change us. This watershed moment brings about our salvation and informs the way we live our lives. It is this Easer moment that informs the way we carry out our day-to-day at St. John the Baptist School.

Our God, who governs physics, astronomy, mathematics, and biology, is not merely abstract but personal. In our preschool classrooms, the children make this cute project every year. It is a picture of the world with their handprint on it that reads: “God made the world and God made me!”

Our God authored creation, and he formed each of our hearts. The God with the power to rise from the dead is the same God who loves me. We seek to instill this personal relationship in our children each day at school. We do this through prayer experiences, through the way we reflect on literature, and through the way we explore science.

Our hope in the Resurrection is so much more than warm wishes and hugs—hope is an assurance that Christ loves us. At St. John the Baptist School, we seek to be a place where this hope is alive.
