Greetings and blessings upon you! My name is Brian Fogarty and I am looking forward to making music with the students of St. John the Baptist this year! I live in Sturgeon Bay with my wife, Amy and our 4 children and 3 dogs! I serve as the Music Director of our parish there, Corpus Christi. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a B. Mus and then from the University of Illinois with a M.M. I studied music composition and theory at both schools. I've worked in Catholic Music Ministry my entire career. Best wishes for a fun school year!

We are keeping busy in music this year.  In the primary grades we are learning about the many different aspects of music such as beat, dynamics, rhythm, and melody.  We do this through songs, playing instruments, movement activities and games.  In the elementary grades we add learning how to read music to the above activities. We also study the different musical time periods and various composers.   The 4th graders have begun  a unit on the recorder.

Grades 1-4 are also doing a special project on kindness.  Each grade is learning a song reminding us to love the Lord and treat others with kindness.  There are kindness bracelets being worn and passed on to others when an act of kindness is witnessed.
