Music Notes – Solo and Ensemble, Concerts, and Fundraising…Oh My!
Hello Band Parents!
I hope that your new year is off to a great start! We’ve got some important events coming up for the SJB Bands this winter, including our Mid-Winter Concert featuring themes from movies and TV shows played by the Studio, Lab, and Jazz Bands. Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 in the Ministry Center – mark your calendars!
We also have an opportunity to raise some money for the SJB Band Program on Thursday, February 6th. The SJB Forensics Team is hosting the district wide event this year, and I am organizing band parents to take over the concessions stand during the event. All profits will go to supporting the purchase of new music, instruments, and supplies for our bands. Please contact me if you are willing/able to help! You should have an email in your inbox with more details.
And last on the list of updates is the GRACE Solo and Ensemble Festival, which is open to Studio Band members. This year, the event will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes the morning of Saturday, February 29th. The event is free to attend and is a great way for students to get personalized feedback as well as showcase what they’ve learned to other band students in the district. More information regarding registration and requirements will be sent home by the beginning of February.
Thank you for supporting your children in all of their musical endeavors! As always, contact me via email if you have any questions or concerns!
