Congratulations to all band students on a wonderful year of music making!

I’m so incredibly proud of all the band students at SJB – thank you all for making it a great year! I’m already looking forward to having current fifth graders in Studio Band and filling the Lab Band with many new talents in the fall.

As we head into the summer months, please remember that practicing a little bit over the long break will make getting back into the swing of things much easier once school starts again. Everyone should have a packet of information about summer practice from the last parent folder, but if you don’t, here is a link to the document:

Also in that packet is a supply list for next year. One change from previous years to note is the new method book. Incoming fifth grade band students will be using Tradition of Excellence Book 1 for the entire first year. This book does a great job incorporating music theory and history into the method book format. Studio Band (6-8th grade) will be using Tradition of Excellence Book 2 as a framework for private lessons.  Here is a link to the full supply list for all of the SJB bands:

Hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing summer!
