VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: DESCRIPTIONS
*CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS – Year-round
Your child’s teacher could use some help! Talk to your teacher to find out his/her needs. You can help in many capacities – a Room Parent to plan parties, etc., assist/tutor students, share your special talents and skills!
*TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON –January
During Catholic Schools Week, show the teachers of St. John’s how much you appreciate them by helping to serve them lunch! Volunteers are needed to help plan for decorations and meal preparation, serving and cleaning up.
*ART SHOW- May
Assist by serving cookies and milk to SJB students and families.
*GRADUATION RECEPTION – May
This is a very special time for our 8th graders! SJB tradition holds that 7th Grade parents, help make the 8th Graders’ last year at SJB memorable by volunteering to help with the 8th grade graduation reception. Volunteers are needed to plan the reception, assist with preparation, and assist in various activities during the reception.
*GRADUATION GIFT (8TH GRADE)
8th Grade Parents, help your child leave their class legacy with SBJ by coordinating the “8th grade school gift.” See your child’s homeroom teacher for more information.
*MORE! – Year Round
Do you have talents and skills you would like to share with the school or your child’s class? – Contact your child’s teacher or Andrew Mulloy.
All volunteers must complete the “Protecting God’s Children” VIRTUS class and complete a background check through the Diocese before you may volunteer with the children of St. John’s. If you have not completed these requirements, contact the office or watch the School Newsletter or Parish Bulletin for opportunities or click on the VIRTUS link for times and locations.
